Music

"Life without music is a great mistake." — Nietzsche. Afghanistan's music reflects the country's cultural and linguistic diversity, from Persian ghazals to Indian ragas, played on instruments like the rubab, tanbur and Herati dutar.

Mahoor Music began in Italy in 2021 — concerts at the Genzano Flower Festival, Nowruz and Yalda Night celebrations in Italy and France — blending Afghan and European music with harmonium, tabla, rubab and guitar.

Painting

Painting in Afghanistan expresses the country's cultural and historical identity — Afghan painters draw on natural landscapes, religious elements and local culture, often depicting Afghanistan's blue skies, mountains and plains.

Mahoor has shown Afghan painting through exhibitions at Herat University, the American University in Kabul, the Red Rose Festival in Mazar, and after arriving in Europe, the "Herat Girls" exhibition in Rome, the Genzano Flower Festival, and a painting exhibition at Antony City Hall.

Theater

Panel discussions and performance pieces from Mahoor's stage — including "Performance; Beyond the Spotlight" and public panel discussions on identity and exile.

Traditional Afghan Dance

The rhythmic Attan-e Melli and the dynamic art of Chob Bazi, performed at Mahoor gatherings including the Nowruz and Yalda Night celebrations in Paris.

Miniature

Persian miniature painting — most recently shown in Mahoor's Miniature Art Exhibition.

Calligraphy

Classical script practice, most recently taught through Mahoor's Calligraphy Workshop.

Fashion
